The Founder's Story
Sam Mathews isn’t just the founder of PureHaus, he’s the driving force behind its commitment to crafting exceptional, high-performance homes. A Launceston local, husband, and father, Sam’s roots run deep in the community, giving him an intimate understanding of the Tasmanian way of life.
His journey began with a personal turning point, building his own family home. That experience ignited a passion for creating healthy, sustainable living environments, but this mission became non-negotiable a few years ago. Faced with the serious illness of his baby daughter, Sam stepped away from the business to focus completely on her recovery. That experience changed everything, reinforcing his perspective on what truly matters: health, family, and the environment we live in.
When he returned, he was driven by a renewed purpose, to build homes that were fundamentally healthier for the families living in them. This led Sam to dedicate himself to mastering the highest standards of construction, becoming a certified PassivHaus builder. Today, he works hand-in-hand with our clients, ensuring every project benefits from his direct involvement. This personal touch, grounded in trust and integrity, is something larger companies can’t match. For Sam and his team, building high-performance homes isn’t just a job; it’s our core belief.
